Perfect Apple Crisp

If you’ve never made an apple crisp before, simply follow the directions and you’ll have a dessert you can be proud of. First, you’ll need to combine your base of cooked and cooled rice, apple pie filling, brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins and walnuts. Make sure to spray your oven dish with nonstick spray before adding the filling.

Now that you have your apple filling ready, you’ll need to prepare the crisp. Combine the rolled oats, brown sugar and butter together. If you don’t have a pastry cutter, you can use two knives or a fork to mix these ingredients together. You want slightly moist crumbs that hold together so that they create a crispy top layer over your base of hearty rice and gooey apple filling.

Bake your crisp and enjoy it topped with a dollop of your favorite vanilla ice cream. Or, make some Frozen Coconut Rice Pudding Ice Cream for a delicious combo of two desserts in one!
