Peppercorn Steak and Mushroom Fried Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 bags Success® Basmati Rice
  • 1 strip loin steak, thinly sliced (8 to 10 oz each)
  • 2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/2 lb mixed mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced diagonally

Instructions

  • While steak and rice are a classic combo, this tasty dish is anything but plain or boring with a flavor-packed medley of Success® Basmati Rice, mushrooms, and juicy steak.

    Step 1

  • Prepare rice according to package directions. Let cool completely.

    Step 2

  • Meanwhile, toss steak slices with pepper and salt. Heat canola oil in a wok or large skillet set over high heat. Cook mushrooms for 5 to 8 minutes or until brown and slightly crispy. Add steak; cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown.

    Step 3

  • Stir in rice. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until well coated and starting to heat through. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until rice is heated through, steak is medium-rare and mushrooms are tender.

    Step 4

  • Sprinkle with green onions.
