Weeknight Classic

Do you love the classics? Then you’ve come to the right place! For decades, Fettuccine Alfredo has been a staple in many American households. We’ve decided to take that classic and give it a twist by incorporating our quality rice in place of the pasta. Success® Boil-in-Bag Rice makes it possible to enjoy restaurant-quality meals in the comfort of your own home. Amazing, right?

Now that the secret ingredient has been revealed, lets talk about the other recipe components. Artichoke hearts add a subtle vegetable flavor to this dish that pairs perfectly with the buttery texture and earthy flavor of mushrooms. With the addition of shrimp, this recipe is an elegant and satisfying complete meal.

To make this dish, you’ll gently sauté shrimp with vegetables. When cooked, you’ll add the Alfredo sauce and fold in the remaining ingredients until the sauce starts boiling. Served over rice, garnished with chopped parsley and Parmesan, this dish is comfort food at its best.

Homemade Alfredo Sauce

If you find yourself with enough time to make an extra special meal, try whipping up your own Alfredo Sauce from scratch. Jarred sauce is a great option, but with homemade sauce, you can control the thickness and creaminess. This is a plus, especially if you love the rich flavor of Parmesan cheese.

Although there are many recipe variations, a classic Alfredo generally uses a few simple ingredients — butter, heavy cream, garlic, parsley, and of course, good quality Parmesan cheese. Some recipes also include Gruyere cheese. As this type of cheese melts better than Parmesan, it helps give the sauce an extra-creamy texture.

To make your own Alfredo sauce, start by melting butter over medium heat. When fully melted, incorporate heavy cream and allow the sauce to simmer for a few minutes. Lastly, add cheese and garlic and whisk the mixture steadily and quickly. Add chopped parsley for that final touch!

Believe us when we say homemade makes the difference. Prepare a large batch of homemade Alfredo sauce and save some for the next time you prepare a comforting Four Cheese Tomato Risotto. If you are looking for a seafood option, try our fried rice with shrimp.
