Ingredients

  • 1 bag Success® Basmati Rice
  • 4 chicken breast, boneless, skinless, cut into bite size cubes
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Enjoy a creamy and comforting chicken meal that’s guaranteed to satisfy everyone at your dining table.

    Step 1

  • Prepare rice according to package directions. 

    Step 2

  • In a large bowl, combine the yogurt and lemon juice. Add chicken and coat well. Marinate for minimum of 30 minutes but overnight for full flavor. 

    Step 3

  • Heat the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. 

    Step 4

  • In a small bowl, combine the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder. Then add to pan and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously. 

    Step 5

  • Add chicken to the pan and cook for 4 minutes or until browned on all sides. Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 10 minutes.  

    Step 6

  • Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt. 

    Step 7

  • Serve butter by the rice. Garnish with the chopped cilantro.
