Prepare rice according to package directions.
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt and lemon juice. Add chicken and coat well. Marinate for minimum of 30 minutes but overnight for full flavor.
Heat the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 2 minutes or until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
In a small bowl, combine the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder. Then add to pan and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
Add chicken to the pan and cook for 4 minutes or until browned on all sides. Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt.
Serve butter by the rice. Garnish with the chopped cilantro.
