Step 1
Prepare rice according to package directions. Marinate beef in 1 tbsp of soy sauce and pepper for about 15 minutes.
Step 2
Heat oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic; stir-fry for 30 seconds, until fragrant. Add beef and cook for 2 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
Step 3
Add rice. Stir in remaining soy sauce, hoisin sauce, fish sauce, and sugar. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Turn off heat and toss in basil leaves. Stir just until wilted.
Step 5
Serve hot with a lime wedge.
